here are three examples, the font types are different on the cap engraving,
- LAMY 2000 W.Germany
- LAMY 2000 W.Germany
- LAMY 2000 W.GERMANY

the blind cap edge is different,
the section,

and the feed, the breath hole and 18k gold nib,

there is another one style with only "LAMY 2000" stamped on the cap, no "W.GERMANY",

this one looks similar to roygbiv's on FPN, but the font type is different !

Could you date those three Lamy 2000 or, at least, order them chronologically?
Nice job.

well, i believe the one with a green piece on the feed is the oldest, i.e. the leftmost one. this green piece feed is also found on old lamy pens, http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=33160
the one with "flattened circle" breath hole should be "older" than the circle breath hole nibs. but this may not be true, i have a Lamy 2000 with circle breath hole nib fitted with a green piece feed.
also, the last one with only the "LAMY 2000" imprint are believed to be one of the earliest version, according to http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php?/topic/182361-photos-of-a-lamy-2000-fountain-pencirca-1967-is-this-a-first-edition-do-you-have-any-information/page__p__1851052#entry1851052
however, the parts on Lamy 2000 are interchangeable, and they may be changed by somebody with newer/older parts before. i cannot tell the exact year when they were produced.
thanks.
