al-star is an upgrade to the safari, with aluminum body and semi-transparent triangular section.
it started production from 1997, and in recent year, some special edition are made for each year.

special edition color should be only in production for that particular year.
however, some colors become regular model after a few years.

  12. hello kowang, thanks for visiting, it may take some time to search my 50th Anniversary al-star pens. a little hint were in their press release in 2016, "The fountain pen from the popular LAMY AL-star series in a graphite finish has been given a characteristic embossed line based on the central element of the exhibition."

  17. Thank you very much Kmpn for your answers.
You know why the numbers of the products do not follow an order 25, 26, 27, 28, etc ...

  18. Sorry for the huge number of questions, but it is very difficult to find answers on the internet.
Why the Vibrant Pink has the same number as the Gold Black.

    ReplyDelete
  19. hello serivce, that number is the "product number" or the "model number". it is from 001-099 for each model of lamy fountain pens. and the number could be reused.

  20. Hello!
Very nice page! I wonder why you don't mention the LX pens? Is it because LAMY call them LX, not AL-star? Keep up the good work! Best wishes from a pen collector in Sweden
